Cookies

The short version: this site does not track you or advertise to you, and it sets no cookies of its own for those purposes.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website can store on your device, usually to remember something between pages or visits. Some are necessary for a site to work; others exist to follow what you do across the web. This site avoids the second kind.

What this site uses

No advertising cookies. No analytics that identify you. No third-party trackers embedded to build a profile of you.

Two ordinary things may still happen, both harmless and standard to the wider web:

  • The host that serves the site (Netlify) may set a basic cookie needed to deliver pages securely and reliably. This is functional, not tracking.
  • If you submit a form, a temporary check may run to tell a real person apart from an automated bot, to keep spam out. It is used for that moment and nothing else.

Video

The short looping visuals on this site are hosted here directly and set no cookies. Nothing plays from an outside video service that would track you.

Fonts

The typefaces are stored on this website and load from here, not from Google Fonts or any other outside service, so nothing about your visit is shared with a font provider.

Blog comments

Leaving a comment on the blog sets no cookies. To stop spam, a scrambled one-way code made from your internet address is kept for 24 hours, then discarded. It cannot be turned back into your address.

Affiliate links

Some blog posts link to products on retailers’ websites. Nothing is set on this site when you read those posts. If you click through, the retailer may set its own cookies on its own site, under its own cookie policy.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Because this site relies on none for tracking, doing so will not stop it working.

If this changes

If anything that sets tracking cookies is ever added — for example a booking tool or analytics — this page will be updated first and, where the law requires it, you will be asked to agree before it runs.
